Isumi city mascot character “Isumin”

“Isumin” wears a hat made of pears, a specialty of Isumi City, and her hair is inspired by the waves and the “sea of Sotobo” and “Nami no Ihachi,” an Edo period carver whose works are still widely known in Isumi City. On her head, she wears an accessory of “Ise lobster” from the Isumi Fisheries Cooperative, which boasts the nation’s top-class catch, and “camellia,” a winter delicacy of Isumi. In her hand, she holds an ear of Isumi rice, one of the three major rice varieties in Chiba Prefecture.
